HEC Launches Higher Education Expos in Bangladesh 2026

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has launched the second series of its Higher Education Expos in Bangladesh. The initiative aims to promote study opportunities for Bangladeshi students in Pakistan.

The expos are part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor program. The goal is to strengthen academic cooperation between the two countries. The HEC is leading this educational outreach effort.

The first exhibition of the series was held in Dhaka. It featured participation from 20 leading universities of Pakistan. The event attracted students, educators, and officials.

According to officials, the exhibition series will continue in several cities. These include Barishal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Rangpur. The events will be conducted over the next 10 days.

The HEC said the expos are designed to promote academic exchange. They also aim to increase research collaboration and institutional partnerships between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The inaugural ceremony in Dhaka was attended by senior officials. Bangladesh’s Education Minister Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon attended as chief guest.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Mr. Imran Haider also participated. HEC Director General Scholarships Ms. Aayesha Ikram and Project Director Mr. Jahanzeb Khan were also present.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Milon praised the efforts of the HEC and the Pakistan High Commission. He said the initiative strengthens educational ties between the two countries.

He added that the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor is helping students, teachers, and universities connect more closely. He encouraged students to apply for available scholarship programs.

Mr. Imran Haider highlighted Pakistan’s progress in higher education. He mentioned fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Aviation.

He said the expo series will open new opportunities for academic partnerships. These include research collaboration, joint programs, and student exchanges supported by the HEC.

Ms. Aayesha Ikram explained the scholarship programs in detail. She highlighted the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships offered to Bangladeshi students.

She said the HEC is committed to expanding educational cooperation through scholarships and training programs. Civil servants from Bangladesh will also benefit from training opportunities.

Officials noted that 500 fully funded scholarships are available under the initiative. These scholarships allow students to study at top universities in Pakistan.

So far, 74 Bangladeshi students have already started their studies in Pakistan. They are enrolled in fields such as Engineering, Medical Sciences, Cyber Security, Computer Science, and Biological Sciences.

The HEC believes this initiative will strengthen long-term academic relations. It also aims to build stronger people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
