Punjab Imposes Rs50,000 Fine for Animal Waste Dumping on Eid

The Punjab government has decided to take strict action against individuals who improperly dispose of animal waste and remains on roads, drains, and other public places during Eid ul Adha. Authorities have announced a heavy fine of Rs. 50,000 along with legal proceedings against violators to ensure cleanliness and public hygiene during the festive period.

The decision was reviewed during a visit by Local Government Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian to the Suthra Punjab Authority headquarters, where he chaired an important meeting alongside Director General Babar Sahib Din to finalize Eid cleanliness arrangements.

Officials from district-level Suthra Punjab agencies across the province participated in the meeting via video link. During the session, detailed instructions were issued for launching a province-wide sanitation campaign with a special focus on the proper disposal of animal waste during Eid.

Authorities directed that separate and comprehensive cleanliness plans be prepared for each tehsil. The secretary also instructed that additional staff and machinery be deployed to ensure timely collection and safe disposal of animal waste throughout the Eid holidays.

All waste collection points, dumpers, and sanitation machinery will be inspected for fitness before Eid to ensure smooth operations. Special cleaning arrangements have also been ordered for mosques, Eidgahs, and cattle markets where large public gatherings are expected.

A central control room equipped with modern monitoring systems has already been set up to supervise sanitation activities across Punjab. Suthra Punjab teams will remain actively deployed in the field for 72 continuous hours during the Eid period to manage animal waste efficiently.

The local government secretary stressed that emergency response teams and backup machinery will remain on standby in every tehsil to address any urgent situation. He further stated that strict monitoring will be ensured, and no negligence will be tolerated in maintaining cleanliness during Eid ul Adha.

The initiative aims to uphold hygiene standards and prevent environmental pollution caused by improper disposal of animal waste during the festive season.
