Lodhran Safe City Project Launches E-Challan System to Improve Traffic Control

The Lodhran Safe City project has been inaugurated by Regional Police Officer Multan Usman Akram Gondal. The project aims to improve surveillance, enhance security, and support faster emergency response in the district.

Officials said the new system is designed to modernize policing through advanced monitoring tools. It will help law enforcement agencies respond more effectively to crime and traffic issues.

A key feature of the project is the installation of 273 high-tech cameras. These cameras have been placed at 38 important locations across Lodhran. They cover major roads, intersections, and public areas.

Authorities confirmed that the system will also support E-Challan issuance. Traffic violations captured on camera will be processed automatically through E-Challan technology.

Officials said the E-Challan system will help improve traffic discipline in the city. It will reduce manual intervention and make enforcement more transparent.

The cameras are also equipped with facial recognition technology. This feature will help police identify suspects and track criminal activity more efficiently.

During the inauguration, RPO Usman Akram Gondal said the Safe City project will strengthen law enforcement capabilities. He added that surveillance will improve crime detection and prevention.

He further stated that evidence collection will become faster and more reliable. This will support investigations and improve case outcomes.

The system will also help reduce response time during emergencies. Police will be able to act quickly based on real-time alerts.

Officials also shared that the Safe City project will be linked with the Pukar 15 emergency service. This integration will allow citizens to get immediate help when needed.

In addition to surveillance upgrades, Pink Button emergency points will be installed at selected locations. Free Wi-Fi services will also be provided to the public.

These facilities are designed to improve public safety, especially for women and vulnerable groups. Citizens will be able to report emergencies more easily.

The introduction of E-Challan is expected to reduce traffic violations and improve road safety. Authorities believe automated enforcement will increase compliance with traffic laws.

Officials said the Lodhran Safe City initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize policing in Punjab. The project combines technology with law enforcement to improve urban safety.
