The School Education Department has announced a strict enforcement drive aimed at ensuring the compulsory registration of all private schools across the province. Authorities have also been directed to take legal action and impose fines on institutions operating without proper registration.
In this regard, a formal letter has been issued to all deputy commissioners and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Education, instructing them to compile and submit complete data of both registered and unregistered schools in their respective districts. The move is part of a broader effort to improve regulation and transparency in the education sector.
Officials have been asked to provide detailed reports within seven days, including information on actions taken and any financial recoveries made from unregistered educational institutions. The department has emphasized that compliance will be closely monitored at the provincial level
In addition to registration requirements, the department has introduced new safety measures, making building fitness certificates mandatory for all public and private schools. This step is intended to ensure student safety and confirm that school buildings meet required structural and safety standards.
All educational institutions have been directed to obtain these building fitness certificates from the Communication and Works (C&W) Department. Authorities have been warned that failure to comply with these instructions will result in strict legal action.
The School Education Department further stated that enforcement of all regulations related to school registration, safety standards, and operational compliance will be implemented without exception.
Officials reiterated that institutions violating rules or operating without proper authorization will face penalties, including fines and possible closure. The department stressed that these measures are necessary to improve accountability, ensure student safety, and regulate the growing number of private schools operating across the province.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening the education system by enforcing standards and eliminating unregulated institutions that fail to meet legal and safety requirements.
