The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has conducted an operation in Al-Haram City to remove illegal occupation from residential plots. The action was taken after several complaints were received from affected allottees.
According to officials, NAB carried out the operation on the instructions of Waqar Chohan. The teams worked with local revenue staff and Rawalpindi Cantonment Police. Their goal was to ensure a smooth and peaceful process.
Authorities said the identified plots were cleared during the operation. Law and order remained stable throughout the activity. NAB confirmed that no major incident occurred during the clearance process.
Officials revealed that around 200 kanals of valuable land were under illegal occupation. This situation affected nearly 300 allottees who could not take possession of their plots. NAB stated that the occupied land was linked to another private housing scheme.
After completing on-site verification, NAB has started the process of returning the plots. The handover will be done in phases to ensure proper documentation. Officials said this step will provide relief to the affected owners.
The administration of Al-Haram City has been directed to level the cleared land. It must also transfer possession to the rightful owners within one week. Authorities stressed that deadlines must be followed strictly.
NAB said this operation is part of its broader campaign against illegal occupation. The bureau aims to protect public rights and improve transparency in the housing sector. It also wants to restore confidence among citizens facing property issues.
