Pakistan has secured a strong position in the global outsourcing industry, ranking 16th in the Global Outsourcing Talent Index 2026. The country has outperformed 177 nations, placing it among the top global digital labor markets.
According to the report compiled by Ataraxis Management, Pakistan performed well in key areas such as talent availability, labor cost efficiency, digital infrastructure, and English proficiency. These factors are used to measure outsourcing competitiveness worldwide.
The findings show that Pakistan is emerging as an important technology and services hub. However, the report also highlights ongoing challenges in infrastructure development.
The country has a large freelance and remote workforce. It also has over 85 million people in the labor force. In addition, more than 6 million professional profiles are active on LinkedIn.
Pakistan is ranked 67th globally in English proficiency. It falls under the “Low Proficiency” category in EF EPI rankings. However, major cities like Islamabad and Lahore show stronger performance in language skills.
In terms of talent, Pakistan scored 80 out of 100. This places it alongside major economies such as Brazil, Indonesia, and developed tech markets.
The country also achieved a labor cost score of 97 out of 100. This makes Pakistan one of the most cost-effective outsourcing destinations globally. Lower costs give it a competitive advantage in international markets.
Despite strong talent and low costs, infrastructure remains a challenge. Digital infrastructure in Pakistan scored only 30 out of 100. This includes internet speed, broadband access, and cloud readiness.
Experts suggest that if infrastructure improves to around 50 points, Pakistan could move up to 11th position globally. This shows significant growth potential in the outsourcing sector.
Currently, about 45.7% of the population in Pakistan has internet access. Urban areas are better connected, while rural regions still face connectivity gaps.
The report also highlights that improving IT exports could further boost Pakistan’s global ranking. Stronger digital systems would support faster growth in the tech industry.
