Pakistani security forces have killed 22 Terrorists during a joint intelligence-based operation in Khyber district. The operation was carried out on 21 April 2026 after reports of militant presence in the area, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Officials said the operation targeted members of a group described as Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij. Security forces launched a coordinated action based on credible intelligence. During the operation, an intense exchange of fire took place between troops and the militants.
The ISPR stated that the forces responded with precision and professionalism. As a result, 22 Terrorists were neutralized during the engagement. The operation was described as successful in disrupting militant activity in the region.
Tragically, the militants resorted to indiscriminate firing during the encounter. This led to the martyrdom of a 10-year-old child. Authorities condemned the incident and termed it a result of reckless actions by the fleeing Terrorists.
Security forces also recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the site. Officials said the recovered materials indicate the group’s involvement in previous attacks. The militants were reportedly active in multiple terrorist activities in the region.
Following the main operation, a sanitization process is ongoing. Security teams are conducting search activities to ensure no remaining militants are present in the area. Officials emphasized that such follow-up actions are essential to maintain long-term security.
The operation is part of Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam.” This strategy aims to eliminate foreign-sponsored militancy across the country. Authorities said the campaign will continue with full commitment and coordination among security and law enforcement agencies.
Officials also highlighted that sacrifices of civilians and security personnel strengthen national resolve. They reaffirmed that efforts will continue to counter threats posed by Terrorists and ensure peace in affected regions.
