Electric Buses Launched in Another Punjab City

Maryam Nawaz has unveiled a new, eco-friendly public transport initiative for Multan, with the first batch of modern buses already dispatched to the city. The project is designed to enhance daily commuting by offering residents a more comfortable, efficient, and dependable travel option while also encouraging environmentally sustainable practices.

According to officials, the initial rollout includes a fleet of 10 buses, marking the beginning of the service. Authorities have confirmed that this is only the first phase, with plans already in place to expand the network. In the upcoming stage, more than 50 additional buses will be introduced to increase route coverage and ensure better accessibility across different parts of the city.

This initiative is part of the provincial government’s wider strategy to modernize urban transport systems and tackle increasing mobility challenges faced by growing cities. By introducing a structured and well-managed transport network, the government aims to reduce congestion, improve travel efficiency, and provide a safer commuting experience for the public.

Once the system becomes fully operational, it is expected to serve as a more organized and reliable alternative to traditional transport options currently available in Multan. In addition to improving convenience for passengers, the project is also intended to lower environmental pollution by promoting cleaner modes of transportation.

Maryam Nawaz described the launch as a significant move toward upgrading public services and bringing modern infrastructure to the city. She emphasized that such initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens through innovative and sustainable solutions in the transport sector.
