NADRA Announces New Schedule for Mobile Registration Units Across Pakistan

National Database and Registration Authority has announced a new schedule for its mobile registration units to improve access to services across Pakistan. The initiative aims to reach citizens living in remote and underserved areas.

According to reports, NADRA mobile registration vans will visit far-flung regions from April 6 to April 11. These units are designed to provide essential services to people who cannot easily reach registration centers. Officials say this step will help reduce travel time and cost for many families.

Citizens can use these mobile units for various services. These include CNIC registration, renewal, and data updates. To check the exact locations and timings, people are advised to visit the official NADRA website.

This move is part of ongoing efforts by NADRA to improve public service delivery. Authorities want to ensure that identity registration services are accessible to all citizens, regardless of location. The mobile vans are especially useful in rural and mountainous areas.

In a related development, the Senate Standing Committee on Interior has approved a new bill concerning NADRA. The proposed law aims to give the authority more power to regulate identity documents. It will now be presented in the Senate for final approval.

Under the new amendment, NADRA will be allowed to block Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) for up to 60 days. Officials say this measure is necessary to prevent misuse of identity documents. It will also help strengthen national security systems.

The Interior Ministry has explained that identity cards are highly sensitive. Any misuse can create serious risks for the country. Authorities believe stronger powers will help NADRA act quickly in suspicious cases.

In recent months, NADRA has also expanded its services through e-Sahulat centers. Over 1,000 additional franchises have been included, increasing the total to around 3,000 centers nationwide. These centers provide services like B-Form issuance, CNIC renewal, and duplicate card processing.

The expansion covers major cities such as Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta. It also includes many districts across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
