Security Forces Kill 13 India-Backed Terrorists in KP IBOs ISPR

Pakistan’s Security Forces have killed 13 terrorists linked to India during two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operations were carried out based on credible intelligence about militant presence in the region.

The first operation took place in the Bara area of Khyber District. During the raid, Security Forces engaged in a heavy exchange of fire with terrorists. As a result, 10 militants were killed on the spot. Officials said the operation was carefully planned to target specific hideouts.

A second operation was conducted in Bannu District. In this action, Security Forces eliminated three more terrorists. Authorities confirmed that all targets were linked to anti-state activities and had support from across the border.

The ISPR stated that sanitization operations are still ongoing in the affected areas. These efforts aim to clear any remaining militants and ensure long-term security. Officials emphasized that such operations are necessary to maintain stability in the region.

The military also highlighted its continued commitment to counter-terrorism under the national strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam.” This campaign focuses on eliminating foreign-backed terrorism and strengthening internal security. The recent operations are part of this broader effort.

Security challenges have increased in recent years, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. These regions share borders with Afghanistan, making them vulnerable to cross-border militant activity. Since 2021, there has been a noticeable rise in such incidents.

Earlier military actions have also targeted militant networks. Operations like Ghazab lil-Haq resulted in the killing of hundreds of militants and the destruction of several checkposts. These actions were aimed at reducing threats and disrupting terrorist infrastructure.

Tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have also contributed to the situation. In October 2025, clashes between Pakistani forces and Afghan Taliban fighters led to heavy casualties on both sides. Despite diplomatic efforts, a lasting solution has not yet been achieved.

Officials say the latest success reflects the determination of Security Forces to protect the country. They added that operations will continue until all threats are neutralized.
