54 Pakistan–Middle East Flights Cancelled as Regional Tensions Disrupt Air Travel

A total of 54 two-way Flights from Pakistan to various Middle Eastern destinations were cancelled on Saturday. The cancellations affected major international airports, including Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

According to reports, several airlines were impacted by the disruption. These include PIA, Airblue, Air Arabia, Kuwait Airways, Iran Air, Iraqi Airways, Qatar Airways, and Emirates. The suspension of Flights caused inconvenience for many passengers planning travel to the Middle East.

At Lahore Airport, the situation showed slight improvement. Only four Flights to Doha and Dubai were cancelled during the day. Airport officials said operations were gradually stabilizing compared to previous days.

Karachi Airport experienced the highest number of cancellations. Around 22 bilateral flights to cities such as Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Dubai, and Riyadh were affected. This led to delays and rescheduling for many travelers.

Islamabad Airport also saw disruptions, with 10 bilateral Flights cancelled. These routes included major destinations like Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Sharjah, and Kuwait. Passengers were advised to stay in contact with airlines for updated schedules.

In Peshawar, around 10 Flights were cancelled. These included routes to Doha, Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Similarly, Multan Airport reported two cancellations on flights to Dubai.

Sialkot Airport faced six cancellations involving routes to Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi. However, Faisalabad Airport continued normal operations with no reported disruptions.

Airport sources revealed that the total number of cancelled Flights to the Middle East from Pakistan has reached 2,354 over the past 29 days. This reflects the ongoing challenges affecting air travel in the region.

Experts believe that regional tensions and operational issues have played a role in these disruptions. Airlines are closely monitoring the situation and adjusting schedules as needed.

Passengers are advised to check flight status before heading to airports. Authorities are working to restore normal operations and minimize inconvenience.
