CDA annouces salaries before upcoming Eid holidays

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that it will release salaries to its employees ahead of Eid ul-Fitr 2026, following concerns raised by staff over the delayed payment of the Eid allowance. Workers had indicated that this allowance was part of a prior agreement and had expressed frustration, even hinting at potential protest action if payments were not made on time.

Officials confirmed that the decision to expedite salary disbursements comes in response to directives from the Prime Minister, who emphasized the need to ease financial matters for public sector employees ahead of the festive period.

In an official statement, the CDA said the Chairman instructed the finance and accounts departments to fast-track the salary process, ensuring all payments are completed before the start of Eid holidays. The authority also highlighted that special administrative arrangements have been introduced across departments to avoid any delays. Monitoring mechanisms have been strengthened to guarantee that employees receive their salaries promptly.

While salaries are being prioritized, the CDA clarified that additional perks and extra benefits for staff remain suspended due to the government’s ongoing austerity measures. These restrictions have been implemented in line with instructions from the Interior Minister, aiming to rationalize public spending and maintain financial discipline.

Officials emphasized that the CDA is balancing support for employees with the need for cost control. The authority is focusing on efficient use of public resources while ensuring staff welfare is not compromised.

The timely disbursement of salaries before Eid is seen as a move to maintain staff morale, reduce unrest, and uphold the authority’s commitment to its workforce. By implementing careful administrative oversight, the CDA aims to ensure that the festive season proceeds smoothly for employees without any financial inconvenience.

Overall, this step reflects the authority’s effort to support employees while adhering to government-mandated fiscal discipline.
