Pakistani National Killed in UAE After Missile Debris Falls

A Pakistani citizen has died in the United Arab Emirates after fragments from a missile interception fell in a residential area of Abu Dhabi. According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the victim was struck in the Bani Yas neighborhood when debris from an intercepted missile landed in the locality.

This tragic incident adds to a growing number of Pakistanis affected outside the main theatre of conflict as tensions in the Gulf continue to escalate. The unrest began following strikes by United States and Israel on Iran on February 28, prompting retaliatory missile launches from Tehran.

Earlier incidents have already resulted in the deaths of Pakistani nationals in the region. On February 28, a Pakistani citizen was killed in the UAE after debris from an Iranian missile interception fell. Another Pakistani was later killed in Dubai’s Al Barsha area on March 8 when debris struck a vehicle. In the same timeframe, a fisherman from Gwadar, Muhammad Tayyab, was killed in Iranian waters when intercepted missile fragments hit his boat.

On March 6, falling debris in Abu Dhabi injured six Pakistani and Nepalese nationals amid heightened drone and missile activity. Authorities have repeatedly warned expatriate communities in the Gulf to remain vigilant as air defenses continue intercepting incoming projectiles.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief over the fatalities and instructed officials to assist in the repatriation of the bodies to Pakistan. The incidents underscore the risks faced by civilians and expatriates amid escalating regional confrontations that have extended far beyond Iran.

As tensions persist, the Gulf region remains on high alert, with missile and drone activity threatening residential areas and endangering lives, including those of foreign nationals living in the UAE.
