The United States government has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the identification of key Iranian military and intelligence officials, including Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s newly appointed supreme leader.
The US State Department stated that the bounty targets ten individuals associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who are believed to command and direct operations linked to terrorism worldwide.
Mojtaba Khamenei succeeded his father, Ali Khamenei, after coordinated strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces beginning on February 28, which also reportedly affected several senior Iranian officials.
Other figures included in the reward list are Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, and two associates from the office of the supreme leader.
A day before the announcement, viral video showed Larijani attending a rally in Tehran alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, contradicting US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s claim that Iran’s ruling figures were “cowering” in hiding.
The State Department emphasised that the listed individuals are considered responsible for planning, organizing, and executing operations connected to global terrorism, underlining the strategic importance of identifying them.
