Iran Launches Missile, Drone Barrages on US Bases in Gulf

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for launching missile and drone barrages targeting U.S. military installations in the Gulf, including bases in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

According to Iranian claims, the attacks targeted radar systems, fuel depots, and runways at American facilities. Iranian state media reported that one of the primary targets was the Al Dhafra Air Base, a key site used by U.S. forces.

Iranian outlet IRNA said the strikes involved next-generation missiles and drones designed for precision attacks. Reports from Iranian sources alleged that radar installations, MQ-9 drone hangars, and facilities linked to U.S. U-2 reconnaissance aircraft were hit during the operation.

Another strike was reportedly carried out on Al Salem Air Base. The IRGC claimed cruise and ballistic missiles targeted radar systems, fuel storage areas, and two critical runways used by U.S. aircraft at the base.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense confirmed that air defense systems were activated to intercept incoming missiles and drones. Authorities said the loud explosions heard by civilians were defensive interceptions of hostile projectiles in the air.

Regional tensions have also drawn responses from neighboring countries. Khalid bin Salman urged Iran to act responsibly and avoid further escalation, warning that aggressive actions threaten regional stability.

His remarks came after discussions with Syed Asim Munir on strengthening regional security cooperation. Analysts warn that with missile alerts, interceptions, and escalating rhetoric, the Middle East could face wider conflict if tensions continue to rise.
