Iran has reportedly launched large-scale retaliatory attacks on Israel, deploying dozens of drones and missiles as regional tensions continue to intensify following the recent strikes on Tehran by Israel and the United States.
According to reports, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) used advanced “Khaibar Shekan” ballistic missiles during the operation. The missiles were reportedly equipped with cluster munitions, which disperse smaller explosive submunitions over a wide target area.
During the attacks, live cameras monitoring the airspace above Tel Aviv were reportedly redirected toward city streets. Analysts suggested the move was intended to prevent the missiles from being seen as they entered Israeli airspace.
Reports from Russia also claimed that air raid sirens in Tel Aviv were not activated at the time of the attack, raising questions about the sequence of events during the strikes.
Meanwhile, a briefing from United States Central Command described the conflict as entering its sixth day. Admiral Brad Cooper stated that U.S. forces had targeted more than 200 sites inside Iran during the past 72 hours as part of ongoing military operations.
Cooper also claimed that Iranian drones destroyed a U.S. naval vessel during the confrontation and said more than 30 Iranian naval ships had been neutralized in the fighting.
In political developments, Donald Trump expressed support for possible Kurdish operations against Iran, stating it would be “great” if such actions were carried out. He also commented on speculation surrounding Iran’s future leadership, saying discussions about the country’s next leader are still in the early stages and that Mojtaba Khamenei is unlikely to succeed as the next supreme leader.
Despite the intensifying conflict, global energy markets have remained relatively stable so far. Oil prices have not surged dramatically, and shipping traffic through the strategic Strait of Hormuz remains open.
Trump said U.S. military operations against Iran are proceeding according to plan and emphasized that there is currently no fixed timeline for further action. He also noted that the United States has large stockpiles of weapons and ammunition and that the defense industry is increasing production without the need to invoke the Defense Production Act.
