A petition has been submitted to a district court in Karachi against former US President Donald Trump and several others. However, the specific allegations mentioned in the petition have not yet been made public.
The case, registered under number 1095/26, was filed before the Additional District and Sessions Judge as well as the Model Criminal Trial Court West-1. The petition was presented by lawyer Jamshed Khawaja, who is associated with the high court. In the application, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Complaints Cell and the Station House Officer (SHO) of the relevant police station have been named as respondents. Donald Trump and others have been listed as the fourth respondent and proposed accused in the matter.
The filing of the petition has attracted significant attention on social media, where users are actively discussing the development. Despite attempts to contact Jamshed Khawaja for clarification and further information about the nature of the allegations, he has not responded to media queries.
The court has yet to issue a detailed response, and further proceedings in the case are awaited.
The petition comes shortly after reports emerged that US Marines opened fire on protesters during unrest outside the United States consulate in Karachi over the weekend. The reported use of force at a diplomatic mission has raised concerns and could further increase tensions in Pakistan, where widespread protests have already been taking place.
According to reports, on Sunday, at least 11 people lost their lives when demonstrators breached the outer perimeter of the consulate compound. The protests intensified following airstrikes that reportedly resulted in the death of Ali Khamenei, escalating the already tense situation.
