The Education Department has announced urgent safety measures for schools across the province, introducing new directives aimed at strengthening student security amid growing safety concerns. The measures apply to both public and private educational institutions and are effective immediately.
According to the latest notification, morning assemblies in all schools have been suspended until further notice. Authorities stated that the decision was taken to avoid large gatherings of students, which could pose potential security risks during the current situation. Schools have been instructed to adjust daily routines accordingly while ensuring academic activities continue without disruption.
The department has also directed all teachers to immediately download the Safe City App to improve communication between schools and law-enforcement agencies. Officials explained that the application will allow teachers and school administrations to quickly alert authorities in case of emergencies, helping ensure faster response times and improved coordination during critical situations.
In addition, strict instructions have been issued regarding surveillance and on-campus security. All CCTV cameras installed in schools must remain fully functional at all times, and institutions have been ordered to regularly check monitoring systems to avoid technical failures. Schools must also deploy trained security guards and ensure their continuous presence at main entrances to control access and enhance safety.
To remove financial hurdles, education authorities have been instructed to release funds to school accounts immediately so that institutions can implement required security arrangements without delays. Officials emphasized that timely funding is essential for maintaining security infrastructure and hiring necessary personnel.
Schools have further been directed to conduct regular emergency drills and provide students with basic awareness training on how to respond during potential emergencies. The goal is to improve preparedness while minimizing panic in unexpected situations through structured guidance and practice exercises.
Authorities also instructed teachers to ensure that students do not participate in protests or rallies. The department stressed that maintaining student safety remains the top priority, urging parents and school administrations to cooperate fully with the newly introduced measures.
