Saudi Arabia Issues Strict Warning for Visa Overstay Violations

The government of Saudi Arabia has announced tough penalties for anyone who fails to report visitors overstaying their visit visas. Authorities say the new measures aim to strengthen residency and border compliance across the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Public Security, individuals who do not report overstaying visitors could face fines of up to SAR 50,000 (around Rs. 3.73 million), imprisonment for up to six months, or both.

Officials emphasized that both Saudi citizens and expatriate residents must comply with these regulations. Expatriates who neglect to report overstays may also face deportation from Saudi Arabia.

In an official statement shared on social media, Public Security urged all residents to promptly report any holders of visit visas who remain in the country beyond their permitted stay. Authorities warned that non-compliance will lead to strict legal action.

The statement also advised against assisting violators in any way. Providing transport, employment, housing, or shelter to those breaking residency, labor, or border laws could result in legal consequences.

These measures are part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to maintain law and order, secure borders, and ensure adherence to residency regulations. Citizens and residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any violations immediately.

Authorities highlighted that these penalties reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to enforcing immigration and residency laws. Compliance with the new rules is mandatory for all residents and citizens alike.
