Rajab Butt’s Bail Extended in Gambling App Case

LAHORE – The Lahore court extended the interim bail of YouTuber Rajab Butt in a high-profile case involving the promotion of illegal gambling applications. The hearing was presided over by Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi.

Both Rajab Butt and co-accused Nadeem Mubarak appeared in court and marked their attendance. After hearing arguments from the prosecution and defense, the judge extended their interim bail until 6 March 2026.

The court also instructed the investigation officer from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to complete the ongoing investigation as soon as possible. The FIR was originally registered last year, alleging that the accused promoted gambling apps including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet 365, and B9 Game.

According to the FIR, these apps defrauded users by taking their money and not paying out promised profits. The NCCIA registered the case under cybercrime laws, highlighting concerns about illegal gambling and financial exploitation of social media users.

Lawyers representing Rajab Butt argued that he did not directly operate the apps and was only promoting content on social media. The prosecution, however, maintained that his promotion contributed to the spread of unlawful gambling practices.

The case has drawn significant attention due to Rajab Butt’s popularity as a YouTuber and the widespread use of gambling apps among young users. Observers say the court’s extension of bail ensures the accused remain available for further proceedings while investigations continue.
