The National Highways and Motorway Police in Chakwal demonstrated integrity by returning a bag filled with millions of rupees to a passenger who had mistakenly left it behind at the Kallar Kahar Service Area.
According to officials, officers on duty discovered an unattended bag during routine monitoring of the service area. Following standard procedure, they carefully examined the bag in an effort to identify its owner. Upon inspection, they found that it contained Rs. 5.3 million in cash.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the Motorway Police initiated a formal verification process to confirm ownership. After gathering the necessary details and ensuring proper identification, they successfully traced the rightful owner of the bag. The authorities then handed over the recovered bag along with the full amount of cash, ensuring that nothing was missing.
The passenger expressed deep appreciation for the honesty, professionalism, and swift action of the Motorway Police. He thanked the officers for safeguarding his money and returning it promptly.
Officials stated that the incident reflects the department’s commitment to public service and transparency. The timely recovery and return of such a significant amount further strengthened public trust in the Motorway Police, highlighting their dedication to duty and ethical conduct while ensuring the safety and security of citizens on national highways.
