Punjab’s Education Minister has announced that Maryam Nawaz Sharif will launch the next phase of laptop distribution in another division of the province on Monday. The ceremony is scheduled to be held in Gujranwala Division at the University of Gujrat.
This step is part of the provincial government’s continued expansion of the Chief Minister’s Laptop Scheme across Punjab. Recently, authorities extended the deadline for applications under the CM Punjab Laptop Program until February 28, 2026, enabling more eligible students to apply through the official online portal.
In addition, the government has widened the eligibility criteria to include students from private universities. According to the updated policy, private university students who have achieved at least 65 percent marks are now eligible to apply for a free laptop under the scheme.
The initiative is aimed at improving access to digital tools and educational resources for students enrolled in higher education institutions throughout the province. As part of the program’s phased rollout, laptop distribution ceremonies are being organized division by division to ensure broader coverage and smooth implementation.
