A fatal accident on the M-9 Motorway has drawn the attention of the Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan. He has ordered an immediate inquiry into the incident.
The minister directed the Inspector General of Motorway Police to investigate the crash and submit a detailed report at the earliest. Authorities have been instructed to examine all aspects of the accident to prevent future tragedies on the Motorway.
Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the need for strict vehicle fitness checks. Officials are specifically instructed to inspect tire conditions. “No vehicle with worn-out, weak, or expired tires should be allowed on the Motorway,” he said. This applies to both commercial and private vehicles.
The minister highlighted that ensuring road safety is not limited to commercial transport alone. Private vehicles must also undergo thorough inspections. Motorway police have been directed to enforce all prescribed safety standards before vehicles are permitted to enter the highways and Motorway.
Abdul Aleem Khan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the accident. He extended condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for strength and patience for those affected.
The government hopes that this inquiry and stricter enforcement of safety regulations will reduce accidents on Pakistan’s national highways. Officials are expected to implement new measures to ensure vehicles meet all safety requirements before traveling on major routes.
This initiative underlines the importance of monitoring vehicle conditions and improving road safety on the country’s Motorway network. Regular inspections and adherence to safety standards aim to prevent future tragedies and protect all road users.
