Report Shows Imran Khan Has No Access to Specialist Doctors

Barrister Salman Safdar has submitted a detailed report to the Supreme Court after meeting jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Safdar was appointed as friend of the court (amicus curiae) to document concerns raised during the meeting.

Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Safdar said his report reflects exactly what Imran Khan communicated. He stressed that his role was limited to observing and reporting the issues shared by the former prime minister.

According to Safdar, Imran Khan acknowledged that he is serving time in prison and stated that he has no specific program or high expectations during his incarceration. “I know that I am serving time in jail. I have no specific program nor high expectations,” Safdar quoted him as saying.

Health Concerns Highlighted

The report submitted to the Supreme Court also emphasizes that Imran Khan has not had access to a doctor or medical specialist. Safdar noted that no consultation with a specialist has taken place, raising concerns about the adequacy of healthcare provided in prison.

Safdar’s submission comes as the Supreme Court continues to review matters related to Imran Khan’s health and the conditions of his detention. The court is expected to examine the report carefully to ensure that legal and medical standards are being met.

Officials stated that the report serves as an important document for the court to evaluate the rights and well-being of Imran Khan while in custody. Safdar’s observations focus solely on conveying the information provided by the former prime minister during their private meeting.
