Islamabad Tightens Security as New Safety Plan Implemented

Following the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a high-level joint meeting between the Islamabad district administration and Islamabad Police was convened to assess and further improve the law and order situation in the federal capital.

The session was jointly chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. Senior officials from both the civil administration and police department participated in detailed discussions focused on strengthening security arrangements throughout Islamabad.

The primary agenda was to enhance divisional-level safety measures across Islamabad to ensure better protection for residents. The Chief Commissioner stated that, in accordance with the Interior Minister’s instructions, a comprehensive and modern security strategy would be introduced within seven days to transform Islamabad into one of the country’s safest cities.

During the briefing, the Inspector General highlighted plans to tighten surveillance at all entry and exit points of Islamabad. He explained that an advanced monitoring system is being developed to track traffic patterns and public movement across the city more effectively.

Officials also reviewed steps already taken to maintain law and order and curb criminal activity. The IGP emphasized that safeguarding the lives, property, and dignity of Islamabad’s citizens remains the top priority of the police force.

Security will be intensified in sensitive zones, including the Diplomatic Enclave and Red Zone. The Islamabad Safe City project has also been upgraded with modern technology, featuring enhanced cameras and surveillance tools to monitor key roads, business hubs, and residential neighborhoods.

Authorities agreed to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward crime and suspicious activity. Door-to-door surveys in urban Islamabad have been completed, while rural areas will soon follow. Increased patrolling and improved coordination among institutions aim to ensure lasting peace and safety across Islamabad.
