Hyderabad has officially introduced its new identity in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), unveiling the team’s name and logo during an impressive ceremony at Niaz Stadium in Sindh. The event marked a significant step for the city as it prepares to join the league with its own franchise.
The team will compete under the name Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, with the logo revealed in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Franchise owner Fawad Sarwar made the formal announcement, celebrating the occasion with thousands of fans who gathered to witness the historic moment. The launch event featured live music, fireworks, and colorful visuals, creating a festive atmosphere and highlighting the excitement surrounding Hyderabad’s entry into the PSL.
Even before the official unveiling, the franchise had attracted attention through several major signings during the PSL draft. Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne joined as one of the key overseas players, adding international experience to the lineup. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s rising star Saim Ayub, currently ranked as the world’s top T20 all-rounder, was secured in a record-breaking deal. He was picked in the Platinum category for Rs. 12.6 crore, becoming the most expensive Pakistani player in PSL history.
The Kingsmen continued to strengthen their squad by signing Usman Khan in the Diamond category, Maaz Sadaqat as an Emerging Player, and Akif Javed in the Gold category, ensuring a balanced mix of youth and experience.
Off the field, the franchise has assembled a skilled coaching staff. Former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie will serve as head coach, supported by Grant Bradburn, Craig White, Hanif Malik, and fitness expert Zac Martin.
With a strong squad, experienced coaches, and a fresh identity, Hyderabad looks ready for a competitive debut season.
