The Pakistan cricket team officially unveiled its jersey for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday, shortly after the federal government cleared the former champions to take part in the tournament. The competition will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka and is scheduled to run from February 7 to March 8.
The new kit drew widespread attention during Pakistan’s third and final T20 International against Australia at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Fans first caught a glimpse of the design when captain Salman Ali Agha appeared wearing the jersey during the post-match presentation, sparking excitement and discussion on social media.
The outfit features a light green base color paired with deeper green patterns. The design takes inspiration from Pakistan’s national animal, the Markhor, symbolizing strength, resilience, and national pride. The creative detailing gives the jersey a bold and distinctive appearance, making it stand out ahead of the global event. Supporters have welcomed the fresh look, calling it a fitting representation of the team on the world stage.
The public reveal followed soon after the government confirmed Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup. However, officials also clarified that the team will not play its scheduled group-stage match against India on February 15 in Colombo. In an official statement, the government granted approval for tournament participation but ruled out the high-profile clash due to political and security considerations.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had planned to formally launch the jersey during the toss of the second T20I against Australia. That ceremony was delayed because of uncertainties surrounding the team’s involvement in the competition. With the government’s final approval now secured, the situation has been resolved.
With the kit unveiled and participation confirmed, Pakistan can now fully concentrate on preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and aim for a strong performance in the tournament.
