Pakistani students aiming to pursue higher education in Europe can now apply for Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) Scholarships for the 2026–27 academic year. The fully funded program offers opportunities to study at some of Italy’s top universities while promoting international academic cooperation.
The MAECI Scholarship supports the study of Italian language and culture, allowing recipients to enrol at prestigious institutions including the University of Bologna, Sapienza University of Rome, and Politecnico di Milano. The initiative aims to attract talented students from around the world and foster cross-cultural learning.
Financial coverage under the scholarship is comprehensive. Students receive a monthly stipend of €900, full exemption from tuition and enrolment fees at public universities (excluding minor regional charges), and health and accident insurance. Scholarships are available for three, six, or nine months, with renewal options for longer degree programs.
Eligibility criteria vary by program. For Master’s degrees, applicants must be under 28 and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree. PhD applicants must be under 30, have a master’s degree, and an acceptance letter from a university. Research project candidates must be under 40.
Applications are submitted online via the official Study in Italy portal. Candidates must create an account, select an eligible course, and upload necessary documents, including a passport copy, CV, academic transcripts, motivation letter, language proficiency certificate, admission or pre-acceptance letter for Master’s/PhD, and a research proposal for PhD or research applicants.
The expected deadline for submissions is mid-June 2026. The MAECI Scholarship provides Pakistani students a valuable chance to gain a world-class education in Italy while receiving comprehensive financial support.
