Fans of GTA 6 may have to wait longer for the physical edition, according to a recent insider report. The game is currently scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, but boxed copies could arrive after the digital launch.
Polish gaming outlet PPE reported that insider Graczdari, known for accurately leaking information on major titles, shared details about a staggered release plan. According to the report, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, may prioritize the digital version to prevent leaks.
“We are getting more and more information that the box version will not be released simultaneously with the digital version to prevent leaks,” the report said. This move appears aimed at securing sensitive game content ahead of launch.
As of now, neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has officially confirmed the physical release timeline. There are no public statements regarding whether boxed editions will be delayed compared to digital downloads.
Industry experts note that delaying physical editions is becoming common in gaming. Staggered releases help developers control distribution and reduce the risk of early leaks or piracy.
For fans planning to purchase GTA 6, the digital version may be the first and fastest way to play. Those preferring physical copies may need to wait until further announcements from Rockstar.
The staggered release could also allow Take-Two to focus marketing efforts and ensure the quality of physical editions, including packaging and additional content.
