Mohsin Naqvi Assures Overseas Pakistanis of Property Protection in Islamabad

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured overseas Pakistanis that their property rights in Islamabad will be fully protected through strict legal enforcement mechanisms. He said the government is committed to addressing long-standing concerns related to illegal occupation and delayed administrative action affecting overseas investors in the capital.

In a statement shared on social media, the interior minister clarified that any complaint regarding qabza or illegal possession of property will be handled swiftly. He stated that under existing law, the deputy commissioner of Islamabad is bound to decide such matters within seven days of a formal complaint.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that no individual or group will be allowed to occupy property that is lawfully owned. He said the government will not tolerate misuse of influence or administrative delays that undermine confidence in property ownership and legal protection within the Islamabad Capital Territory.

The minister further stated that overseas Pakistanis play a vital role in the national economy through remittances and investments. He added that their investments in Islamabad are welcome and valued, and the government is determined to provide a safe, transparent, and investor-friendly environment.

He assured that swift and transparent action will be taken in all verified cases to safeguard the assets of overseas investors. According to the minister, protection of property rights remains a top priority, and relevant authorities have been instructed to act without delay.

The assurance comes amid repeated complaints from overseas Pakistanis regarding illegal occupation, slow dispute resolution, and lack of accountability, particularly in major urban centres. The government hopes that enforcing clear timelines will help restore trust and encourage further investment.
