Provincial Minister for Energy and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar and MNA Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar inaugurated a “Made in Pakistan” electric and solar-powered vehicle company on Saturday at the SBP e-Library located inside Nishtar Park Sports Complex. The company will manufacture electric bikes, electric cars, and solar-powered buses, marking an important development in Pakistan’s local automobile and renewable energy sectors.
The launch ceremony was attended by government officials, industry representatives, youth, and members of civil society. Participants described the initiative as a significant step toward promoting green energy solutions and reducing Pakistan’s dependence on imported fuel. Speakers highlighted that locally produced electric vehicles can play a vital role in addressing environmental challenges and cutting transportation costs.
Speaking at the event, Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said the introduction of Pakistan’s first domestically manufactured electric and solar-powered vehicles reflects a serious effort to tackle the country’s ongoing energy crisis. He noted that clean energy-based transport is essential for reducing pollution levels and easing pressure on conventional energy resources.
The minister further announced plans to organize a provincial youth expo in the near future. He said the expo would provide young people with an opportunity to showcase their skills, innovations, and technical abilities. According to him, encouraging youth-led initiatives is critical for economic growth and technological progress in the province.
MNA Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar said the newly launched company is expected to generate significant employment opportunities for local youth. He added that the project will help develop technical skills and support small and medium industries linked to electric vehicle manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance across the region.
He also emphasized that promoting locally made sustainable transport solutions will strengthen Pakistan’s economy by reducing imports and supporting domestic production. Officials expressed confidence that initiatives like this will encourage further investment in renewable energy and modern transport, contributing to long-term environmental sustainability and economic stability.
