China Announces Fully-Funded MS, PhD Scholarships for Pakistan

Tianjin University has opened applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship. High-Level Postgraduate Program 2026 (Type B), offering international students the opportunity to pursue fully funded Master’s and PhD degrees. This highly competitive scholarship is designed to attract exceptional academic talent from around the world, particularly in disciplines such as engineering, science, management, humanities, and social sciences.

The program offers a wide range of study options, including 104 Master’s programs and 125 PhD programs. Among these, 29 Master’s and 55 PhD programs are taught entirely in English, providing greater accessibility for international applicants. The deadline to submit applications is January 18, 2026.

Applicants must complete a two-step application process. First, candidates are required to apply through the Tianjin University online application system. In addition, a separate application must be submitted on the China Scholarship Council (CSC) portal. Applicants should use Tianjin University’s agency number, 10056, and select the scholarship category as Type B.

The scholarship offers comprehensive financial support. Successful candidates will receive a full tuition fee waiver, free on-campus accommodation or an accommodation subsidy, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of CNY 3,500 for both Master’s and PhD students. However, international airfare is not covered under the scholarship.

The funding covers the full standard duration of the selected degree program, subject to satisfactory academic performance throughout the study period. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 or an equivalent qualification. PhD applicants are also required to have at least one published academic research paper. Candidates must meet the academic requirements of their chosen program.

Language proficiency requirements vary by program. For English-taught courses, applicants must submit IELTS (minimum 6.0) or TOEFL (minimum 80) scores. For Chinese-taught programs, an HSK Level 5 certificate with a minimum score of 180 is required.
