Multan Sultans Consider New Captain Ahead of PSL 11 Season

Multan Sultans are reportedly considering Pakistan T20 skipper Salman Ali Agha to replace Mohammad Rizwan as captain ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) season.

Mohammad Rizwan, who has been central to Multan Sultans’ success in the PSL, has already stepped down from the captaincy. The leadership change is part of a broader restructuring as the franchise prepares for the next season.

For PSL 11, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will manage Multan Sultans directly following the end of the previous ownership arrangement. The team is expected to be auctioned again after the season concludes.

As part of the revamp, Lahore Qalandars’ head coach Aqib Javed is tipped to take the role of Head of Cricket Affairs. He will oversee player recruitment, long-term planning, and cricket operations.

Reports indicate that Pakistan’s current head coach, Mike Hesson, is expected to join as the head coach. Other notable names, including Abdul Razzaq, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Taufeeq Umar, are being considered for supporting coaching roles.

If these changes are confirmed, Multan Sultans will enter PSL 11 with a completely new structure. The team will have a new captain, a fresh coaching setup, and temporary management under the PCB.

Fans and analysts are closely monitoring the situation, anticipating how the leadership and coaching changes will impact the team’s performance. The restructuring aims to strengthen the squad strategically and maintain competitiveness in the upcoming season.
