[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]During the Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Punjab, 25 lives were tragically lost in various traffic accidents over two days, underscoring the critical need for enhanced road safety and stricter adherence to traffic regulations.
Rescue 1122 officials reported that these fatal incidents occurred in multiple districts, including car and van crashes in Faisalabad, high-speed impacts and van collisions in Multan, and car and motorcycle mishaps in Chiniot. Additionally, there was a high incidence of motorcycle accidents throughout the province.

Dr. Rizwan Nasir, the Director General of Rescue 1122, lamented the loss of lives and the injuries to nearly 2,500 people. He stressed the necessity of stringent enforcement of traffic laws and taking precautionary measures during travel to avoid such disasters.
In the initial two days of Eid, Punjab reported a total of 4,500 accidents, involving 4,100 men and 1,203 women. Lahore experienced the highest number of these incidents, with 770 accidents leading to many injuries. Across the province, 2,545 individuals with severe injuries were transported to hospitals, and 2,733 received on-site medical care.
The majority of these accidents involved motorcycles, totaling 4,422, followed by 219 rickshaw accidents and 496 car accidents. Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala reported the highest numbers of accidents.
As the community mourns and many continue to recover, there is a pressing call for authorities to enhance road safety campaigns and enforce traffic laws more rigorously to prevent further tragedies on Punjab’s roads.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
