Yasir Sultan Wins Bronze Medal At Asian Throwing Championship

Yasir Sultan has won a bronze medal for Pakistan at the Asian Throwing Championship 2025, held in South Korea. He competed in the men’s javelin throw event and delivered his best performance of the season.

Yasir Sultan, 27, was the only athlete representing Pakistan at the event. On his final throw, he recorded a distance of 77.43 metres. This throw secured him third place and pushed him ahead of China’s Zhu Kai Zhu.

His earlier attempts included 75.79m, 72.57m, and 72.88m. Two of his throws were declared foul. However, it was his sixth and final throw that earned him a spot on the podium.

The gold medal went to Sri Lanka’s Pathirage Rumesh Tharanga, who threw 82.05 metres. Japan’s Gen Naganuma claimed the silver with a distance of 78.60 metres. The competition featured top talent from across Asia, making Yasir Sultan’s performance even more impressive.
