Yango signs MoU with Islamabad Capital Territory Police to enhance Rider Safety through Smart ICTP and Taxi Verification Integration

ISLAMABAD, June 02nd, 2025: Yango Pakistan, part of the tech company Yango Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) to strengthen urban safety through the integration of ICTP’s public security tools into Yango’s technology ecosystem.

This collaboration aims to raise public awareness and encourage the use of the Smart ICTP app and the Taxi Verification App, both developed by the ICTP, to help citizens access essential safety services. Under the agreement, Yango will feature the Smart ICTP app in its safety widget within the Yango Super App, allowing users to connect with law enforcement in real-time during urgent situations easily.

“We are proud to collaborate with ICTP on a shared vision for a safer, smarter Islamabad,” said Miral Sharif, Country Head, Yango Pakistan. “Through this integration, we’re not just enhancing the rider experience, but also empowering communities with access to real-time safety tools backed by law enforcement.”

The partnership includes an Information Campaign aimed at educating citizens on how to use the Smart ICTP and Taxi Verification apps. These apps are provided free of charge and offer a direct line to police support, allowing for quicker verification of taxis and safer travel in the capital.

Signed by SSP Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (PSP) of the ICTP and Mr. Muhammad Jahangir Khan of Yango, the MoU represents a significant step toward aligning innovative technology with public safety priorities in Pakistan.

Both parties have affirmed their commitment to the public good, ethical cooperation, and zero tolerance for corruption. The MoU outlines a one-year collaboration period, with automatic renewal unless stated otherwise, and will require no financial commitments from either side. Yango continues to expand its presence in Pakistan with a strong focus on rider safety, responsible mobility, and meaningful local partnerships.
