[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced a new feature that allows users to download videos from its platform, but there are certain conditions that need to be met. Creators must explicitly allow downloads for the content they post, and the ability to save videos is currently limited to verified users, mostly comprising those who have subscribed to the Blue subscription.

Elon Musk, the CEO of X, announced this new feature and explained that verified users can download content by tapping the ellipsis menu in full-screen mode. Additionally, X is working on making it easier for mobile users to download videos by simply tapping and holding the content on the screen.

Previously, users had to resort to third-party websites and apps to download videos from X. This new feature is part of X’s efforts to provide additional benefits to paying subscribers, while certain features become restricted for non-paying users.

For example, in July, X limited the number of direct messages non-paying users can send to combat spam issues. Moreover, the number of posts non-verified users can view per day has also been restricted to 600.

In contrast, verified users enjoy several privileges, such as the ability to publish longer posts with up to 25,000 characters and the option to post videos up to three hours in length. Recently, X also gave Blue subscribers the option to hide their blue checkmark if they prefer not to show that they are paying for the service. To showcase the changes implemented since Elon Musk took over as CEO, company CEO Linda Yaccarino has shared a list of the updates.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
