Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the World Bank’s Country Partnership Framework, which aims to invest $20 billion in Pakistan over the next decade.
The inaugural ceremony took place in Islamabad, where the Prime Minister and other officials delivered speeches. Shehbaz Sharif described the launch as a historic milestone, praising the collaborative efforts between Pakistan’s team and the World Bank. He also thanked the World Bank President for continued support in various sectors.

The 10-year framework targets six key areas, including IT development, hydropower, energy, education, and health, while addressing the aftermath of the 2022 climate disaster. It promotes public-private partnerships and private investment alongside the $20 billion funding. Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism that the framework’s successful implementation would lead to significant progress and prosperity for Pakistan.
