According to insights from an international media outlet, this functionality will leverage Bluetooth technology to detect nearby devices for local file transfers. Importantly, users will retain the option to disable this feature if they prefer not to utilize it.
In order to access this feature, users will need to grant permissions for system files, photo gallery access, and location data. However, the shared files will be encrypted, and phone numbers will be concealed to safeguard user privacy and security.
Although Meta has yet to make an official announcement regarding the launch of this new feature, ongoing testing on select beta versions suggests that its introduction is imminent.
