Shaheen Afridi Advances In Recent T20I Rankings

Pakistan’s pace bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has seen a significant rise in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings due to his outstanding performances, earning him the Player of the Match accolades during the ongoing five-match series against New Zealand, which currently stands level at 1-1 after three matches.

New Zealand’s batsman Mark Chapman has also experienced an improvement in his rankings. Chapman’s impressive unbeaten 87 runs off 42 balls in the third match has propelled him 12 places up to the 33rd position in the latest weekly update. Similarly, Shaheen’s three-wicket haul for 13 runs in the second match has elevated him two positions to the 17th spot.

Among other New Zealand players, wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert has climbed from 27th to 24th place, while leg-spinner Ish Sodhi has moved up from 23rd to 18th position in the rankings.

In a separate development, Dipendra Singh Airee has become the fourth Nepalese player to break into the top 50 in the Men’s T20I Batting Rankings. Airee achieved this feat after scoring an unbeaten 44 against Hong Kong in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Men’s Premier Cup. Additionally, Airee’s 11th position in the all-rounders’ rankings is the highest for Nepal, with Kaushal Malla trailing behind in the 25th position.

Furthermore, notable progress has been made by Hong Kong’s Anshuman Rath (up seven places to 70th) and the United Arab Emirates’ Alishan Sharafu (up 29 places to 88th) among batsmen, along with Nepal’s Sompal Kami (up 16 places to 92nd) among bowlers, following their performances in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup.
