The vans intended to dump the rubbish in Nullah Lai, but WASA officials and police stopped them and took possession of them.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rawalpindi implemented Section 144 in the regions surrounding Nullah Lai in response to instructions from the Punjab Home Department.

This action was supported by a warning to all responsible departments and the general public to refrain from dumping waste and construction debris into Nullah Lai.
