Big Visa Update UAE Introduces New Visas For Professionals And Tourists

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a major Visa Update, unveiling new categories for professionals, tourists, and humanitarian cases. The reforms aim to attract skilled talent, strengthen tourism, and provide support to vulnerable groups.

According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), four new visa types have been launched. These include permits for artificial intelligence (AI) specialists, entertainment projects, event participation, and tourism.

AI experts can now obtain single or multiple-entry visas by providing a letter from a recognized technology institution. Entertainment visas will be issued to foreign participants in creative and cultural projects. Event visas are designed for those attending conferences, exhibitions, and seminars, with organizers required to submit event details.

Tourists will benefit from multiple-entry maritime visas, making it easier for visitors arriving on cruise ships and leisure boats to explore the country. This Visa Update highlights the UAE’s focus on becoming a global hub for technology, culture, and tourism.

In addition to professional and tourism-related visas, the reforms introduce a humanitarian measure. One-year residence permits will now be granted to refugees and people displaced by wars or natural disasters. These permits do not require a sponsor and can be extended under special circumstances.

Widows and divorced women will also receive more support. They can now apply for one-year residencies without sponsorship, provided they meet financial and housing requirements. The rules vary depending on whether the deceased or divorced husband was Emirati or foreign.

New income thresholds have also been set for expatriates sponsoring relatives or friends. For example, AED 4,000 per month is required for first-degree relatives, while AED 15,000 is needed to sponsor friends.

This comprehensive Visa Update shows the UAE’s commitment to inclusivity, economic growth, and global engagement. It marks a significant step toward making the country more welcoming for professionals, investors, families, and visitors.
