India’s cricket sensation Virat Kohli has surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar to become the highest run-scorer in international white-ball cricket.

Kohli achieved this remarkable milestone with a stellar 74-run performance against Australia in the third and final ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. His innings not only guided India to victory but also cemented his place in cricket history.

The record encompasses runs scored in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 Internationals (T20Is). Kohli has now accumulated a total of 18,443 runs, including 14,255 in 305 ODIs and 4,188 in 125 T20Is — making him the most prolific batter in the white-ball format.

Until now, the record was held by Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 18,436 runs across white-ball formats, with 18,426 coming from ODIs and 10 from his lone T20 International.

Kohli’s consistency, discipline, and unmatched ability to perform under pressure have made him one of the greatest modern cricketers. His achievement marks another chapter in India’s cricketing legacy, bridging generations of batting brilliance from Tendulkar to Kohli.
