'3 Idiots' Film Star Achyut Potdar Passes Away At Age Ninety

Veteran Indian actor Potdar, best known for his role in 3 Idiots, passed away on August 18. He was 90 years old.

According to his daughter, Anuradha Paraskar, Potdar collapsed at home and was rushed to Jupiter Hospital in Thane. Despite medical efforts, he died peacefully due to heart failure.

Potdar had a long and respected career in Indian cinema and television. He acted in more than 125 films and several TV shows. His work included both mainstream and parallel cinema.

Some of his most famous films include Tezaab, Parinda, Rangeela, Vaastav, Parineeta, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Dabangg 2, and Ventilator. His television appearances included Bharat Ek Khoj, Mrs. Tendulkar, and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo.

Though he played many roles, Potdar became widely recognized for a short but impactful role in 3 Idiots. His dialogue, “Arey kehna kya chahte ho?” became an internet meme and part of pop culture.
