After spending over three months in Pakistan, 33-year-old American woman Onijah Andrew Robinson has returned to New York, according to police reports.

Robinson arrived in Karachi on October 11, 2024, planning to marry 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she met online. However, their plans were derailed after Memon allegedly abandoned her due to family opposition.

Following his disappearance, Robinson waited outside his apartment for nearly 30 hours before seeking refuge at a Chhipa shelter. She was later admitted to the psychiatric ward at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

South DIG Police Syed Asad Raza confirmed that Robinson departed JPMC for the airport, boarding a flight to Dubai at 10:40 p.m. en route to the US. Her ticket was arranged by the US government.

The case drew significant attention after Zaffar Abbas, founder of the Jafriya Disaster Management Cell Welfare Organisation, highlighted her situation on social media. Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori intervened to extend her expired visa and facilitate her return. However, Robinson initially resisted cooperation.

Authorities in Karachi had considered deportation and sought federal guidance but ultimately organized her voluntary departure.
