Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched a free laptop initiative for university students across Pakistan to promote digital inclusion and support academic growth.
Students can register for the scheme online through the official portal: https://laptop.pmyp.gov.pk/.
Eligibility:
Students from affiliated colleges of Public Sector Universities or Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are not eligible to apply under PMYLS Phase–III. Any application submitted by such students will be automatically rejected.
PM Laptop Scheme – Application Status Guid
The government has updated the online portal, enabling students to track their application status and manage their profiles directly from their dashboard. The status indicators are as follows:
- Submitted: The student has successfully completed and submitted the application for registration.
- Verified: The student’s details have been confirmed and validated by the university representative.
- Rejected: The application has been rejected due to issues such as incorrect academic information, admission discrepancies, misconduct, or administrative reasons.
- Qualified for Merit List: The application has been approved for inclusion in the Provisional and Final Merit Lists.
Merit Status:
- Selected: The student has been selected based on merit to receive a laptop.
- Not Selected: The student was not selected after eligibility checks during the merit list preparation.
- Asset Already Issued: The student has previously received a laptop under any current or past scheme. For assistance, contact the university representative.
- Waiting: The student is on standby and may be selected if a chosen candidate is disqualified or drops out. This status does not guarantee a laptop.
- Ineligible: The student is deemed ineligible after verification and corrections in the Provisional Merit List.
- Not Processed: The student’s record has not yet been processed for the merit list; the university has not completed the Provisional or Final Merit List.
