[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, two troops were killed in a gunfight with militants on Sunday in the Spinwam neighbourhood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) North Waziristan district (ISPR).

Both sepoys lmran Ullah, 25, of District Bajaur District, and sepoy Afzal Khan, 21, of District Upper Dir District, battled valiantly and chose martyrdom during the heavy exchange of fire.

Two terrorists were captured by army personnel, and at least two more were killed. The terrorists’ weapons and ammo were also found.

The military’s media wing added that the militants had remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and the killing of innocent citizens. A sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any remaining terrorists found in the area.

The Pakistan Army has expressed its determination to “eliminate the menace of terrorism” and said that the sacrifices of its brave soldiers further strengthen resolve.

Last week, security forces killed a terrorist during an exchange of fire with militants in the same area of North Waziristan. The militant had been actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and civilians.

Locals praised the response and offered their full support for the effort to eradicate the threat of terrorism from the region, according to the military’s media wing.

In the past three months, Pakistan’s security services have carried out several operations against terrorism around the nation, arresting terrorists and their facilitators while also thwarting a number of attacks.

As efforts to rid the nation of terrorism continue, security personnel have killed at least 142 terrorists in the last three months. In the last three months, security personnel conducted 6,921 operations around the nation, arresting at least 1,007 terrorists.

A total of 1,960 operations were conducted in K-P, out of which 1,516 were area-domination operations, 301 were intelligence-based operations, and 143 were area-sanitisation operations.

As a result of the operations conducted by security forces, 98 terrorists were killed and 540 were arrested in K-P.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
