Former President Donald Trump has decided to stop holding outdoor rallies following an assassination attempt at a recent event in Butler, Pennsylvania. Sources close to his campaign say that Trump will now focus on indoor rallies and may consider smaller outdoor events or larger, controlled environments like stadiums to enhance security.
This decision comes in the wake of the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who took “full responsibility for the security lapse” at the Butler rally. In an interview with Newsmax, Trump acknowledged Cheatle’s resignation and mentioned that his campaign had been requesting additional Secret Service agents but had not been accommodated.
