Trump Praises India, Pakistan Leadership After Ceasefire, Promises Economic Boost

WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump commended the leadership of Pakistan and India for their bold steps in de-escalating tensions that threatened to spark widespread conflict in South Asia.

Speaking a day after the ceasefire agreement, Trump praised both nations for their courage and restraint, saying their actions prevented potential large-scale loss of life. He highlighted their recognition of the situation’s severity and their joint effort to defuse it.

Calling the moment historically significant, Trump described the decision as heroic and said it would positively shape the legacy of both countries’ leaders. He also acknowledged the role of the U.S. in supporting the peace process between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

Looking ahead, Trump pledged to strengthen trade ties with both India and Pakistan, stating, “I am going to increase trade substantially with both of these great nations.”

He also voiced a desire to assist in resolving the long-standing Kashmir issue, suggesting that a balanced and lasting solution may finally be achievable.

While Trump’s remarks drew praise for their diplomatic tone, some analysts expressed skepticism about the likelihood of a durable resolution to the Kashmir conflict, given its deep historical and territorial roots.
