WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump has offered to mediate the escalating crisis between Pakistan and India, urging both nations to pursue peace after days of deadly cross-border strikes.

According to American media, Trump made the statement after India’s air raids killed dozens of Pakistani civilians, prompting a swift and forceful response from Pakistan’s military.

“I have good personal relationships with the leaders of both Pakistan and India,” Trump said. “They’ve made their point—now it’s time to find a peaceful solution.”

The president added he was ready to assist in defusing the situation and encouraged both sides to step back from further military confrontation.

India’s overnight missile strikes on May 5 and 6 targeted six Pakistani locations, leaving 31 civilians dead and injuring 57, including children. In retaliation, Pakistan downed five Indian jets—three of them Rafales—and struck key military positions near the Line of Control.
